  1. We have some users who are not developers that connect to our team server via the web portal to submit and manage bugs and work items for active projects. If we moved to your hosting soluction, would they also require licenses, in addition to the developers? And if so, how much for each user?

For TFS Hosting, it is $20 per month per user - this includes all users (developers or otherwise) who access the hosted TFS service. (There are discounts starting at 6+ users.) This monthly fee will cover the licensing fees for using hosted TFS.

  3. Thanks for the response. One last question: Do you provide CALs? For example, the developers here all have Visual Studio, so they have CALs. But users who don't have VS that manage bugs/tickets won't have CALs. Do we also have to purchase a CAL from microsoft for those users who don't have VS, or will that be provided on your end?

If the user wants to use VS.NET, they will need to purchase the license. Otherwise, your user can use the web based interface to access the bug tracking.

Licensing of Visual Studio on the client side is the responsibility of the customer or individual. We don't provide CALs to cover our customer's software licensing on their own computers.

  6. Thank you for the responses. Much appreciated!
